Les Têtes de Saint Denis

In this project one can see human scale images of people that resemble the Saint Denis city (a suburb of Paris) inhabitants, however, these images hold their heads in their hands. It's an allusion to the city's foundation myth, according to which Saint Denis had his head cut in Montmartre, but instead of just dying, he stood up, grabbed his head and walked until the place where the Saint-Denis' cathedral was later built - right in the center of the city in question.
Knowing that most of the inhabitants of Saint Denis nowadays are immigrants, especially from Africa, and the symbolic importance of this myth to France's origins (many kings of this country were buried in the cathedral mentioned), this project induces a critical reflection about the integration/non-integration process of different foreingers culture in France, or Europe.
